On one occasion, I wrote an email, clicked 'send', saw the window provided usefully by your add-on, clicked 'cancel' and could not edit the message. However, I tried to reproduce the problem a few times - and one time with two 'to' addresses (for the original email have multiple recipients) and I could not reproduce it.
Thunderbird 78.5 x64 on Windows 10.

My system replicates this - on clicking CAS cancel the compose window freezes and the only way out seems to be to close the window using the W10 box top right corner, and save the message as a draft when that dialog pops up.

Hi, this also happens on my system if TB happens to receive an email while in the middle of sending and pops up the email received dialog box.
Seems that if anything stops the Send process the code locks up?

I think perhaps the problem occurs when the Check-and-Send window gets moved to the background.
It would be nice were this to be fixed.

Cannot reproduced but changes in v2.1.4 may improve the situation.
If it still happens in v2.1.4 try "New window" option of popup mode.
