I have installed Google Contacts 0.6.35 in Thunderbird 5.0. It runs fine and downloads new entries added at the Google website. But new contacts added via Thunderbird don't show up at the online site.
Which mode do you use to sync: Interactive or Batch?
And please let me know if there are error messages in the error console and the status bar.
I use interactive mode for Google contacts add on.
When a modification to a contact is made in Thunderbird, this is not updated in gmail account contacts and get lost after sync.
I see the following message in the status bar. "Google contact was not updated. The change will be discarded when you reload Google contacts."
I've seen this a few times as well. I quit and re-started Thunderbird and it seemed to work then.
Suresh - Do you have the option set to reload the Google contact every few minutes?
Before you modify a card in Thunderbird with interactive mode, you need to authenticate. It is done by clicking reload button.
By default, Reload at startup option is enabled. So, it is done at startup automatically. But if you change the option, you need to reload manually.
Please confirm the option.
How do you manually reload the contacts? I don't see a menu item or pull down.
Choose "Customize" in toolbar's context menu and put the button.
Got it. I'll try that from now on.
