About Tag Toolbar
Thunderbird2 has tag functionality. However, the UI is not good enough. Methods to add tags are annoying if you have many tags. Attached tags are difficult to recognize. Tag Toolbar facilitates the tag functionality.
The core feature of Tag Toolbar is to show tags on the toolbar to easy
recognition and easy tagging. You can add/remove tags as if you use the
bookmark toolbar of Firefox. In addition to it, Tag Toolbar also
provide category and search functionalities for the user who has many
tags.
You may want to add many tags to a message if you install Tag Toolbar.
However, adding many tags arises a problem; some of added tags
may
disappear from the message. In order to avoid it, I recommend you to
read the tip in my blog.
There is also another problem if you use Tag Toolbar with Lightning.
Please read this tip too.
Improve visibility of tags
Add toolbar and line tags up on it.
The tags are toggle buttons and the states indicate whether the tags
are added to the selected messages. You can also add/remove tags from
the selected messages.
Categorize tags
You can create categories and filter tags displayed on the toolbar. You can also use categories as folders.
Category is very useful if you have many tags. Thunderbird determins the order of tags automatically and it cannot be modified. In Tag Toolbar's categories, you can order tags.
Search tags
You
can search tags by tag name and color. The search can be saved as saved
search category. It works like the saved search folder of
Thunderbird.
Add tags to a sent message
You can add tags to a sent message. The tags are specified while you
compose a message. Tag Toolbar also appears in the message compose
window. Tags you clicked on it are added to the message saved to the
sent folder.
